About This Project

Overview: Prepped and lacquered kitchen cabinets.

 

Process:

  1. Removed all doors and drawers and shipped to our finishing shop.
  2. tape, tarp and protected kitchen, floor, walls, windows, countertops, and created a containment zone between kitchen and family room.
  3. Set up a venting system to remove fumes.
  4. Prep sanded all surfaces.
  5. Cleaned all surfaces with isopropyl alcohol to remove all surface contaminants.
  6. Applied first coat of pigmented white lacquer (Pre-Catylized Lacquer from Daly’s Paint & Decorating).
  7. Applied bondo where needed to fill surface imperfections and sand smooth.
  8. Applied two more finish coats.
  9. Reinstalled cabinet doors and drawers.
  10. Touched up and cleaned up.
